A meeting place between Bristol and Waterloo?

So im meeting a friend who lives in bristol n we want to try n get together, no offence to any ppl from bristol, but my mom said its not that interesting so I dont wanna go on a few hour train ride to bristol.And she dosnt want to go on a few hour train ride to london cause it costs alot.So is there any city we could meet at thats about half way?
