PC and network support technicians are ever more sought after in the United Kingdom, as institutions have come to depend on their technical advice and fixing and repairing abilities. All programs you're considering has to build towards a widely recognised qualification as an end-goal - and not a worthless 'in-house' printed certificate to hang in your hallway. Doesn't it make more sense to not pay up-front, but when you take the exam, not to pay the fees marked up by the training company, and also to sit exams more locally - rather than in some remote centre? Paying upfront for examination fees (and interest charges if you're borrowing money) is bad financial management. Don't line companies bank accounts with your money just to give them more interest! There are those who hope that you won't get round to taking them - then they'll keep the extra money. Don't forget, with 'Exam Guarantees' from most places - they control when and how often you can do your re-takes. Subsequent exam attempts are only authorised at the company's say so.

Splashing out often many hundreds of pounds extra on an 'Exam Guarantee' is foolish - when hard work, commitment and the right preparation via exam simulations is what will really guarantee success.

It's essential to have an authorised exam preparation system as part of your course package. Don't go for training programs relying on unauthorised exam papers and questions. Their phraseology can be quite different - and sometimes this can be a real headache in the actual examination. Mock exams can be very useful in helping you build your confidence - so much so, that at your actual exams, you won't be worried.

A competent and specialised consultant (vs a salesperson) will want to thoroughly discuss your current situation. There is no other way of calculating your study start-point. Occasionally, the training inception point for someone with experience is substantially dissimilar to someone without. If this is going to be your initial effort at studying for an IT examination then you might also want to cut your teeth on some basic Microsoft package and Windows skills first.
